Farmer Found Dead in Jhenaidah Field: Tragic End Unveiled

Jhenaidah, April 29 -- Authorities retrieved the farmer's body from a field in Jhenaidah Sadar Upazila late Monday evening.

The individual who passed away has been identified as Mohammad Ali, aged 45, whose father was the late Idris Ali from Garamara village within the Holidhani union of the upazila.

Residents mentioned that the victim had headed out to work in the fields during the early part of the afternoon but didn’t make it back home. It was later in the evening when other farmworkers discovered his lifeless form in the field close to 10 pm. They promptly alerted his relatives, leading to the notification of law enforcement authorities.

When Farmer Shahjahan Ali returned from the fields, he discovered Ali's body in Montu Mia's paddy field. The deceased had visible wounds on his neck and near his navel.

Subsequently, the authorities retrieved the remains and transported them to the morgue at Jhenaidah Sadar Hospital for an autopsy.

The Officer-in-Charge at the Jhenaidah Sadar police station, Abdullah Al Mamun, stated that since investigations were still ongoing, it had not been determined yet if the death resulted from murder or was caused by a lightning strike.

After reviewing the autopsy report, we'll determine the cause of death, he said.
