On April 28, Accra - The President, Mr. John Dramani Mahama, following the guidelines set under Section 17 of the Bank of Ghana Act from 2002 (Act 612), which was later revised, has designated Mrs. Matilda Asante-Asiedu for the role of Second Deputy Governor at the Bank of Ghana (BoG).
A press release from Mr. Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the spokesperson for President and Minister in charge of Government Communications, was sent to the Ghana News Agency. It stated that Mrs. Asante-Asiedu is a chartered banker with extensive experience as an accomplished business executive. She previously held the position of Group Head of Retail Banking at Access Bank Ghana PLC.
She has earned an MBA in Marketing from GIMPA Business School (2021), an MA in Journalism Studies from Cardiff University (2005), along with certifications in Journalism from Ghana Institute of Journalism (1997) and in Politics and Public Affairs Reporting from the International Institute of Journalism in Berlin (2000).
Ms. Asante-Asiedu holds the title of Chartered Executive Banker (CIB-Ghana, 2024).
She has participated in executive programs at the Said Business School at Oxford University (2023), the Wharton School (2015), and Marquette University’s Les Aspin Center (2003).
