PICTORIAL: Natasha's Defiant Fans Pack Streets Despite Ban & Police Warnings

Backers of the former Kogi Central Senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who has been suspended, have hit the roads in anticipation of her upcoming welcome-back event, even though Governor Usman Ododo of Kogi State has prohibited public assemblies.

On Monday, the Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Miller Dantawaye, reiterated the government’s instructions, stressing that the proposed rally contravenes the prohibition on political assemblies. He appealed to Akpoti-Uduaghan to cancel the planned Sallah gathering in the Kogi Central Senatorial District.

Recent photos shared online from Tuesday, April 1, depict fervent backers brandishing signs in support of the detained legislator. The messages state: "Welcome back, distinguished daughter of Ebiraland. The residents of Okene fully stand with you," and "The inhabitants of Adavi wholeheartedly support you."

The demonstration of backing occurs as political strain intensifies in Kogi State, with supporters persistently gathering behind Akpoti-Uduaghan even though an official prohibition has been imposed.
