Butterfly Garden and Rain Vortex: Airport Wins Global Award, Leaving UK Behind

In a recent ranking of the world’s finest airports, the United Kingdom did not secure a place within the top 20 spots, despite intense competition.

Singapore For the record-setting 13th occasion, Changi Airport claimed the top spot at the 2025 Skytrax World Airport Awards.

These accolades represent the globe’s biggest customer-centric airport satisfaction study, evaluating passenger services and amenities at 565 different airports worldwide.

Changi Airport boasts numerous amenities for travelers such as a butterfly garden, an outdoor swimming pool on the roof, and a hedge maze.

One of the standout attractions at Changi Airport is undoubtedly the Rain Vortex, which stands as the globe's loftiest indoor waterfall, plunging down 40 meters or approximately 131 feet.

Visitors have the option to try out the airport’s hanging trampoline, take a walk through its treetop garden, or challenge themselves on the rock-climbing wall.

Changi also received accolades for being named the World's Best Airport for Dining and the World's Best Airport for Restrooms.

Hamad International Airport located in Doha, Qatar , fell to second place this year despite securing the award in 2024.

British airports did not manage to secure a spot in the top 20 for another consecutive year. In this edition, Heathrow dropped to 22nd place from 21st the previous year.

Gatwick enhanced its ranking, moving up to 36th place from 48th in the previous year.

The airport was also honored with accolades for being the world leader in airport shopping and the best airport in the Middle East.

Tokyo Haneda Airport secured third place overall and was honored with accolades for being named the World's Cleanest Airport as well as the World's Best Domestic Airport.

Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris had the highest ranking among European airports, followed closely by Rome Fiumicino as the second-best in the region.
