Americans Bypass Eggs as Shortages Drive Up Prices Internationally
According to a new research, an increasing number of people in the United States have stopped consuming eggs because of their continuously escalating prices.
Research conducted by Clarify Capital discovered that 34% of Americans are deliberately refraining from buying eggs due to rising costs making them unaffordable. Participants stated that they would only contemplate purchasing eggs if the price falls to $5 or under per carton.
Almost every participant in the survey mentioned observing a significant rise in egg prices over the past few months.
The research further revealed that 61% of Americans are consuming less eggs because of increasing prices, whereas 44% are reducing egg usage in their culinary activities.
The supply of eggs in the United States has been significantly affected due to an increase in bird flu cases.
Even with the threat of tariffs hanging over them, officials from Washington have contacted multiple European nations such as Denmark to evaluate their egg supplies and discuss potential future importing opportunities.
